Have you ever sent your toddler out with a cup of juice only to hear that they have spilled it on the carpet? Maybe you have a cup of your morning coffee that is knocked off the table. There are lots of ways that you can end up with food and other items spilled on your carpet. These things that are spilled are something that you need to make sure you have a plan to clean off your carpets. The cleaning that is needed can be different depending on what it is that you have to clean. There are some spills and spots that need to be cleaned with cold water and some that you can use warm water. There are others that have very specific and different types of cleaning methods and one of them is when there is wax on your carpet. Tough Carpet Cleaning offers tips to remove hot wax spills off your carpet.
How Did You Get the Wax on Your Carpet?
There are a few ways that people can end up with wax on your carpet. One of the most common ways that you can have wax is when you have a candle that has been burning and you bump it over. The wet and hot wax is something that can spread out over the carpet and then seem impossible to remove. The other way that you can have wax on your carpet is when you have a new version of a candle and it is a wax heater. The heater will just heat a square of wax without any actual flame. The wax still becomes a liquid and when it spills it can land right on your carpet.
Use Heat from Iron or Hair Dryer to Remove Wax Stains from Carpet
There are a few ways that you can use to get wax off your carpet. One way to do that is to use a heated clothes iron. You want to make sure that you get all your supplies before you start. Get your iron out and make sure that it has a setting that has no steam at all. Then you want to make sure that you have brown paper sacks like the ones that you get grocery shopping. You can cut them down to size and use each piece as you need to. The method is to heat the iron up and lay a piece of the brown sack over the wax. Then use the iron to heat the area up and this will make the wax liquid again and that will transfer it to the brown sack. Then you can remove the paper and it will take the wax with it. Then you can use a fresh piece and repeat the process over again.
Get Wax Stains Out of Carpet with Ice
You can also go a different direction with the removal of the wax if you are not wanting to use heat. You want to work with the wax when it is cold and the wax is hard. The way that you can do that is to use a bag of ice that you can lay on the wax to cool it down. Then you can use a knife to scrape the wax off the carpet. You want to make sure that you remove the wax pieces as you go.
