A common stain that develops on the surface around all tile and grout, is rust. Though the mold and mildew stains tend to cause us the most trouble, rust stains can still cause a lot of unsightly blemishes around the tile and grout. There are some expensive retail products that claim to get the job done but are too harsh, ineffective, or both when it comes to treating the rust. The mild rust stains can be dissolved with products already found in the home, more often than not. There are circumstances surrounding the rust stains that require a professional’s attention to effectively remove the rust stain, however. We at Tough Carpet Cleaning would like to share a few options to remove the rust stains. It should be noted that many types of tiles and all grout should be sealed. These sealants act as a protective barrier in order to resist stains and moisture buildup. A new application is required, the sealants do wear away over time. When cleaning, harsh chemicals shouldn’t be used to avoid damaging grout.
