1) Be sure to pickup the debris from the salad before getting to the dressing. Use your hands to pick up solid food particles and use a clean white cloth to sop up any excess liquid or salad dressing. Be careful not to be too brazen as you sop up the dressing, too aggressive techniques will spread out and be pushed into the carpet.
2) You need to prepare a solution to remove the salad dressing stain, or you can use a carpet cleaner. Carefully, but efficiently mix together four parts of warm water and one part of household white vinegar. Vinegar is great in removing stains as well as leaving your carpet odor-free and it is ideal ingredient in many different solutions. After you have the mixture on hand, apply some of it onto the stain and allow it to set for three minutes.
3) Once you have allowed the cleaning solution to soak the stain for several minutes, get a clean white cloth and proceed in blotting the affected area. Gradually blot the stained area from the outside moving inward. In the event the cleaning solution dries up with the stain still there, administer some of it again and resume blotting. Do this repeatedly until all of the salad dressing stain is remove.
4) In a squirt bottle, rinse the carpet with pure water. This can be eliminated by rinsing the area using any cleaning solution residue from it staying behind can cause a build-up over time. Using towels or clean rags, dry the carpets thoroughly.
