You want to get some rubbing alcohol and use a clean cloth to clean the area. Blot the area with a cloth that has been soaked with rubbing alcohol. Get Old Marker Out of Carpet with Hair Spray

Now that the stain has been softened and it is looking not so bold you can use the next step to get the rest of the color out. Then you want to use paper towels to dab at the spot. You should start to see that the paper towel is holding the color and it is coming off the carpet. The best way to finish the cleaning process is to use a cleaning solution with two cups of warm water and a tablespoon of mild dish soap. You can use a cloth to dip in the solution then dab across the area that you cleaned the stain from. This will remove any residue that is left behind.
