Mop Tile & Grout Floors Often
The first thing that you want to do is make sure that you sweep and mop your tile and grout on a regular basis. In between mopping you will want to sweep several times as well. Grout is porous so it will absorb dirt and grime. Keeping the dirt and grime off of the grout will help you keep it as clean as possible.
Scrubbing Grout Lines
You will also want to take time to clean just your grout. There are many different ways that you can clean your grout.
Cleaning Grout with Baking Soda. Another grout cleaner that you can make at home requires some baking soda and water. You need two parts baking soda to one part water for this solution. Mix them together to make a paste. Apply the paste to your grout. You will want to allow it sit overnight. In the morning you will take a nylon brush and scrub your grout. When you are done you will want to make sure that you wash your tile and grout thoroughly. This is a great solution for those hard to clean grout stains. When you leave the solution overnight you will want to make sure that any pets or small children do not get into the paste solution.
How to Clean Grout with Baking Soda & Hydrogen Peroxide. Some people swear by using hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Take the baking soda and sprinkle it on your grout. Once you have covered the grout areas that you want to clean with baking soda grab the hydrogen peroxide. Spray the baking soda with the hydrogen peroxide until it is wet. Allow this to sit for 10 minutes. Take a scrub brush and scrub your grout thoroughly. When you are done wipe the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide off with water.
